 2022 Preview 


       Bibb County completed the 2021 season with a 9-3 record. With their 6-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 4A region three, the Choctaws earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Bibb County reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Handley by a score of 28-14.

       Since 2010, Bibb County has gone a combined 108-37. Their 74.5% winning percentage ranks 2nd in Class 4A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Bibb County has managed to compile a record of 182-106. Their 63.0% winning percentage ranks 10th in Class 4A and 72nd in the AHSAA.




       The Choctaws are led by head coach Matt Geohagan who is entering his eighth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 65-21 over the past seven seasons at Bibb County. Under his direction the Choctaws have qualified for the playoffs a total of seven times. They have won four region crowns with Coach Geohagan.

       Coach Geohagan's overall record as a head football coach in seven season stands at 65-21 (75.6%).

       The Bibb County Choctaws will play in Class 4A region three during the 2022 season.

       Bibb County enters the 2022 season with a string of 11 consecutive wins on their home field at Choctaw Stadium.

       The Choctaws should be considered one of the favorites for the region three championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs. The Choctaws have successfully qualified for the playoffs every year since 2012 and expect to be included again when November rolls around.

       The Choctaws open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Chilton County on Friday, August 19 at Choctaw Stadium. Last year the Chilton County Tigers finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in seventh place in Class 6A region three. The Tigers ended last season on a positive note with a win over Marbury by a score of 14-10 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

       Bibb County and Chilton County have met a total of 74 times on the football field. The Choctaws have a 38-33-3 record against the Tigers. They last met in 2019 with Bibb County winning by a score of 42-6.
